Really, I'm not just lazy.............

I have been thinking lately about how difficult it is to exercise.... I always start on Monday and think "I totally am going to exercise this week" and then all of a sudden it's Friday and I haven't done anything! I get up way to many times a night with the baby to get up any earlier than is necessary to get the girls ready for school, so I can't exercise before everyone gets up. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays I work, and I have to have my hair done in the morning because I don't have time later so I can't exercise during the day or I'd have to shower and then ruin my hair. Thursdays I have dance, so I guess I do exercise at least on Thursdays. If I try to exercise after Jason gets home from work, we end up having a chaotic night trying to fit everything in before the girls have to go to bed. I have tried to exercise during the days I don't work.......let me tell you how that went. I set Ava up watching her shows on TV, put Corrine in the bouncer in the exercise room and hop on the treadmill. I start running, she starts crying. I hop off the treadmill, leave it running so I can just hop back on, give her her binky, hop back on and repeat 6 times. I give up, turn down the treadmill and hold Corrine while I walk fast. By then, Ava's shows are done and she goes upstairs to find me. She can't find me because I am not upstairs, and FREAKS OUT because she doesn't know where I am. I finally give up; exercising doesn't seem to be in the cards today. So there it is, I really am not lazy; I'm trying!

We have triatheletes in the family...........

Our kids participated in the first Pocatello Kids Triathalon! We had so much fun, and I admit fully to living vicariously through my kids.....I so want to do my own! It was perfect weather, cool but not cold so they didn't get hot. We were totally unprepared. I had heard about it a week previous, then promptly forgot about it, and the night before we were at a friend's house and she reminded me about it. Michaela was up until midnight that night, and Payden found out about it the morning of! But it worked out ok. I know, these pictures are not in order and some are still sideways, I will learn eventually.
Michaela said she didn't have fun, can you tell how happy she is here? I think she was just unprepared and tired from the night before.
Payden had a blast!
My accomplished triatheletes!
Don't they look official?
Payden did the backstroke the whole time............
Michaela changed her stroke a few times.......Michaela Phelps!

All in all, it was fun and we will do it again next year. Ava may even give it a shot, since next summer she will begin swimming lessons. (They can use a board or noodle if they need to.) Now I can't wait to do one..Next summer!

Potato Festival

Our neighborhood held a potato festival( for those of you not living in Idaho, potatoes are important around here) with games and of course potato dishes. Everyone was invited, and encouraged to bring a potluck potato dish. The weather was beautiful and our family had a great time. What a great way to celebrate the start of fall(again, for those of you not in Idaho, potato harvest begins in October)!

There was a contest for the best potato dish. I brought potato fudge and won first place.......... this was my award. Yes, that is a real potato painted gold mounted on a watch box!
There was potato sack races for adults and children, I'll let you decide who's who......................

That's me in the green shirt.

Getting ready to go, Corrine looked adorable in her hat, which got many compliments.
Ava took to this better than I thought she would, she loved it!
Payden and Michaela also enjoyed the potato sack race.

Some of these are sideways, I will edit better next time! I also hope to figure out how to put the pictures on in the order I want them. What a learning experience!

Here I Am

So I did it, just not sure if I did it right. I am so interested in looking at other people's blogs, but I wonder, will anyone be interested in mine? We live such ordinary lives....If nothing else, I can print these pages and use them for an archive of family happenings like one wise women told me. As soon as I find out how, I will get some pictures on here!
