We got some news last week that have definitely changed things for our family. The company that Jason works for laid off everyone in the Pocatello office except Jason. They told him that they like him and would like him to come work for them in Salt Lake City, and gave us 6 months to put things in order to get there.
This was extremely generous of the company, and we are very grateful for it. It means our girls can finish out the school year, finish dance, we have time to sell the house, etc. We have time to adjust to the idea and to get things ready.
We knew this might be coming, the office hasn't been doing well. Even though we knew it was a possibility, it was still somewhat of a blow. The older girls took it kind of hard, though they are starting to get excited. We will miss our friends, and it changes things for my career. We love our home, neighborhood and ward. We will miss being close to our families.
But.
Jason has a job. With a good company who values him. In this economy, that can't be looked over or taken for granted. We know that we are blessed to be looking at moving instead of looking for a job. We like the Salt Lake area, and Jason has family there that we will be happy to be closer to.
So it is with saddened but grateful hearts that we prepare for this new chapter in our lives. I am even starting to get a little excited about the whole thing. We hope to have our house sold and be in SLC together as a family in June. I really don't want to be living here, waiting for our house to sell, while Jason works in SLC during the week. So if anyone knows anyone looking to buy, we have a great house that we have loved living in!
And of course, my blog will stay the same, and I will love being able to keep in contact with all of you that way.
Salt Lake City, here we come!

I am excited to hear of you coming to Utah. You will love it! The weather is milder, as I am sure you know, but the summers do get a little unbearable for my Idaho spirit. I love having the mountains just a throw away. It is one of my favorite things. Is Jason working right in Salt Lake or one of the suburbs? You will find a great place, there are so many I am sure in Salt Lake County. Congrats again. I am sure it is a little nerve racking as change always is, but I am sure you love Utah.
:-( ....but I am very glad to see how upbeat you all are being...
that is exciting news for Jason tho...(not suprised that his bosses like him tho)
plus you all will do great in SLC...not too far away...
YAY!!! Jon just said, "tell them we have a few houses for sale in our ward!" I'm so excited for you guys... you'll love it here. Not that I know any different! We live 30 minutes north of down town, and 5 minutes from the train that goes to down town. When you come to look for a house, stop by and visit. We were just saying the other day that we wished we saw you guys more than just on the 4th of July!
I am so happy that Jason still has
a good job. I know it is scary to
move away from family and friends but I have to say the time I spent living in Utah was WONDERFUL! I bet
you will make fast friends and find
it will be a great blessing to be
close to so many of Jasons cousins.
We will keep you in our prayers for
a quick sale of your home and a smooth transition. Best of Luck!
Gina; So glad for you that Jason still has a job. Moving is a toughy...especially can be on the older ones. BUT I love the SLC area. We have been so blessed the past year and half (following our move with Matt's job). Heavenly Father definetly watches over us and it is incredible how things work out. Congrats!
You will be closer to us:)
This neighborhood will not be the same without you! We have LOVED having your girls all the same age as ours. We are going to miss you! We still need to have you guys over for dinner. We've been talking about it forever and I can't seem to remember to ask you about a day whenever I see you.
