60 seconds
There are a lot of things you can do in 60 seconds. Wash your hands, travel one mile on the highway, say a quick prayer, you get the idea. Something you can't do in 60 seconds; walk or even sprint from our house to the school. Yet lately, Payden seems to think that she can. Let me tell you, if she suddenly becomes capable of making the run from home to school in 60 seconds, we are going to get some serious Olympic training going on. She can earn us millions and we can live large for the rest of our lives. Until then, she is going to have to get ready for school early enough that there isn't 60 seconds left until the tardy bell rings when she leaves the house. I am letting her be responsible for getting to school on time, and as you can tell we have been having an issue. I can look into the future however, and see that if she doesn't learn this lesson now, I will be rousing a teenager from bed and husteling her to get to school on time then. I don't want to do that; so I stand back and let her be late. Maybe soon she will learn her lesson....

Good for you! Honestly this is an area I could use some help with. I am usually giving them the ten minute count down, ok, ten more minutes, five more minutes, 1 more minute... It's time... Boys!! GET OUT OF HERE!!! Hummm... maybe there is a better way of doing this??
Good Luck with teaching that lesson. Let me know how it goes.
I have 2 self starter, early risers
and 2 slow start sleeper inners.
It is still a challenge to get
everyone out the door on time.
Sunday mornings(getting them all off to church on time)is a challenge too.
It stresses me out to be late for
things or make people wait for me.
I wish everyone felt the same.
You must be speaking about our house :) We have that same problem with Taylor.
I hope Corinne is feeling better, we missed you!
