Is it a Halloween decoration?
We were up at my mother's house, which is about 7 miles outside of town in the mountains, so to speak. She gets a lot of wildlife on her 3 acres, and this is no exception. Payden was playing in a room, and she came out HOLDING this, asking if it was real. Apparently, this tiny bat flew into my mom's house at some point and died there. Payden found it hanging upside down on the side of a desk! We determined the yes, the bat was very real, and very dead. Payden was immediatly instructed to wash her hands, and now Batman, as it is now named, will be making the rounds in two lucky classrooms next week. Then the girls want to bury it, next to where we buried the mole that died in our window well last year. We can't be the only family with a growing pet cemetery in their yard!
It is tiny, only about 3 or 4 inches long. You can see its teeth through its lips!

YIKES, now that is a good Halloween decoration!
WOW, you are good to keep it!!! We had a mouse die in our window well....we just watched it decompose, no burrial for it. I really didn't want to retrieve it!
You could say you gave your children a lesson in decomposition. As for our house, the mole already had a name, we had to bury it! :)
Oh, that is SICK!!! I am such a wimp about that kind of thing. I honestly have the chills. Last Spring Emily and Anne's little Caleb were playing outside and he carried in a dead mouse! I seriously started jumping up and down trying not to wet my pants, and think of a plan in the process!
